Genting Sanyen Power Sdn Bhd ("GSP")
owns the 720 MW gas-fired combined cycle power plant known as
the Genting Sanyen Kuala Langat Power Plant. The plant is
located at the Genting Sanyen Paper Mill Complex in Kuala Langat,
Selangor. In developing
the Kuala Langat Power Plant, GSP attained the following
distinctions in Malaysia:
- The first IPP to generate and
supply power to TNB.
- The first and only thermal
power plant in Malaysia to provide its own water supply.
- The first power plant in
Malaysia that supply steam to another industry. Combined
Co-generation Cycle.
- The first power plant in
Malaysia that uses hybrid cooling towers.
- Being the first set-up in
Malaysia that employs absorption chillers for air conditioning.
- Achieving a Malaysian record
time of 9 months in constructing transmission lines for TNB that
also includes the acquisition on the wayleave.
- The first combined cycle in
Malaysia that employ the 3-3-1 block configuration. It also
employs the 5-4-1 block configuration for whole plant.
