In 1998, we ventured into the downstream packaging business to manufacture corrugated carton boxes, a value-added product further down the supply chain. Previously only a paper commodity supplier, Genting Sanyen, through its box plants, now converts its very own paper into carton boxes of flutes A, B, C, E and any combination of two flutes. We also supply nestings, dividers, layer pads and foam, to go with customer’s carton boxes. This strategy has successfully consolidated our position as a Market Leader in the paper and packaging industry of Malaysia.

In the year 2000, GSIP was awarded the IS0 9002 certification for the manufacture of paper from secondary fibre and pulp. Its box plants also hold the MS ISO 9002: 1994 Quality Systems - Model for Quality Assurance in Production, Installation and Servicing - for the manufacture of corrugated carton boxes. Both certificates were awarded by Standard and Industrial Research Institute Malaysia (SIRIM).

Our two box plants, each with an installed capacity of 120,000 tons a year, are reputed to be among the most highly-automated in the world. This is due to our investment in the latest European and Japanese corrugating, converting, and other ancillary machineries that - among other tasks - corrugate, die-cut, and print cartons. An extensive series of conveyors transfer work-in progress from one machine to the next automatically. All our machines are selected for their speed, reliability, efficiency and high quality printing capabilities to suit your needs for attractive and sturdy boxes.

The seamless production process is managed by our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Information Technology system. This integrated IT system controls major tasks such as sales ordering, production planning, material management and financial reporting. The Automatic Storage and Retrieval System taking over and manages the logistics of finished goods storage before delivery to customer’s door step. The leading-edge IT technology at work in our box plants is aimed at delivering customer’s carton boxes on time and in full.
